Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changeling #1)Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

3.5 I-expected-so-much-more Stars!
It wasn’t horrible, and don’t get me wrong it got A LOT better the last quarter of the book – I just felt that when writing a book about a Psy (emotionless, heartless & cold) it is super hard to convey those emotional ties between characters. Even with Sascha’s inner dialogue, contradicting her cold attitude, there was something off.
I felt as if the picture the author was trying to portray was missing something. Like I was watching the screen play out in black and white. I felt like I was constantly missing something. Something wasn’t jiving with my noggin… That may have had something to do with the fact that I was watching The Menendez Brothers trial on True Crime…. While reading it… This whole review may be mostly my fault, but I am prideful person and I refuse to accept personal flaws. So sue me.
The Dream scene… NICE… it was pretty wowza. Even the we-have-decided-to-go-all-in scene. Whoa. Smoking. Hot. Sign me up for the Panther changelings.
As far as the grammatical and technical side of her writing. She was amazing. She basically took us through psychic, subconscious ghosting masterpiece of a world. She described the webbing and PsyNet very well and in detail. There was steamy romance, paranormal, suspense and science fiction all rolled into one. Good job to you. All my favorite genres. I was skeptical on continuing the series, but based on many of my friends current recommendations, the series gets much better so keep on with it!
